Meet the Founder: Jessica Levey
The Accessible Aisle was launched in 2025 by writer Jessica Levey. A full-time Editor at American Marriage Ministries (an independent, unaffiliated nonprofit), Jessica has spent years writing about wedding industry trends, marriage equality, and marriage legislation; and interviewing vendors across the country.
She's also the author and illustrator of two wedding books, Handfasting: From Ancient Rites to Modern Ceremonies, and Wynn the Wedding Officiant, an LGBTQ+ friendly children's book about the officiant's role. She served as lead editor for Marriage by the Numbers: Planning Your Wedding Using Numerology, and illustrated The Book of Wedding Vows and Ceremonies, a best-selling guide to the craft of custom ceremony writing.
Jessica started The Accessible Aisle as a labor of love after recognizing the need for a dedicated space that prioritizes accessibility, representation, and meaningful change within the wedding world. As a member of the disability community and a passionate advocate for inclusivity, she hopes to build a large community of disability-friendly vendors and venues, ensuring that weddings are welcoming and accessible to everyone.
(When she's not writing about weddings, Jessica spends a lot of time in gardens sipping coffee and eating pastries, visiting new places, listening to music, and drawing comics and zines, some of which you can find here: HelloJessLevey + Comics & Zines.)
